Take Off. Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance Commitment to Social Justice The Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance is deeply troubled by the recent deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. We recognize that any acrimonious act by a civilian or law enforcement officer is not only wrong but unacceptable. We also acknowledge these names are just the latest of a long list of individuals and families who have suffered from wrongs inflicted solely because of one’s race. These recent incidents coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic’s disproportionate impact on people of color are harsh reminders of the systemic inequities that have plagued people of color in this country for centuries. Historical data illustrates how these systemic issues have negatively impacted income, education and healthcare outcomes for minority communities across the country. The Alliance was created to foster regional economic competitiveness surrounding Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The Airport shares the name of Atlanta’s visionary former Mayor Maynard H. Jackson Jr., whose commitment to an inclusive international airport has yielded great returns for not only minorities but also the City, State and Region. Our vision to create an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem for quality development, jobs and a better quality of life for the area supports his legacy. Our board of directors and leadership composition is a true reflection of our commitment to battle decades of inequities and our dedication to deliver hope for a better future for all. We recognize our responsibility and will commit to be a voice of hope, reason and solution in the eradication of social and economic inequalities. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Dr. King Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance: COVID-19 Information and Updates Last updated May 15 The Aerotropolis Atlanta Alliance is working closely with local, regional, and state partners to confront the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. The Alliance has temporarily closed its physical office location and implemented a mandatory teleworking policy for employees. We have also suspended all non-essential travel following Governor Kemp’s orders and based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance. As we proceed through an uncertain time, the Alliance remains dedicated to our vital mission of supporting economic development across the airport region.
